Burmese Army Soldiers Gang Raped a 15-Year-Old Girl

Sumlut Roi Ja, a 15-year-old girl, was gang-raped by Capt. Thet Hpyo Aung, also known as Capt. Zaw Htet Aung and two other Burmese army soldiers from 116th Light Infantry Regiment (LIR) at Lu Htawng village, located between Sadung and Mau Gyam village, on Oct 30 at 9 am. She was handed back to her parents in Lu Htawng village yesterday evening, reported a local source.

The battalion commander of 116th LIR is Lt. Col. Min Kyin San. 116th LIR is a mobile battalion under Sagaing-based 33rd Light Infantry Division led by Col. Myit Maw.
